My name is Carlos J. Morales – born in the Lower East Side and raised in Queens, I have always been surrounded by creativity and community. New York City is a melting pot of cultures and ideas – it is what shaped my creative eye. Throughout my childhood, I used to assist my grandmother in the kitchen; donning the nickname EasyBake. My grandmother, Mary, worked in just about 15 bakeries in her life; a challenging and physically demanding task. It was her story that interested me, it was her passion that encouraged me – in 2011 I attended culinary to enhance the skills she instilled in me.

Long before culinary school, I started Oven Fresh Dreams an online baking, lifestyle collective. Its objective? I wanted to capture the stories of those living out their dreams while exploring mine. We are often told that dreamers are destined to fail, that ultimately dreams may not come true. However, if you work hard enough your dreams may be as real as anything else in life. When I started baking (before I truly knew what I was doing), I was influenced by many creative types. This list includes Peanut Butter Wolf (Stones Throw), Johnny “Cupcakes” Earle, Benny Gold, Mike Giant, Aaron Kraten, and a handful of other wonderful people. The artistic vision behind these artists and business owners inspire me to take O.F.D to unreachable heights. Keeping that in mind, I want to showcase the talents of the people I encounter in my journey by teaming up and releasing a series of limited collaborations. Now known as “The Collaborate & Dream Series”, the series focuses on printable mediums; home goods, kitchenware, t-shirts, prints, and zines with the hopes of elevating the exposure of the artists I work with. There is nothing more important to me than helping people tell their stories and share their gift with the world.

Word of mouth is the most valued and effective form of promotion. I have been blessed with a following of friends and family, who promote my vision daily. In other words, as Oven Fresh Dreams continues to grow, so does our family.
